Nestled in a wooded valley just outside of Fortville, Indiana, Gravel Lawn Cemetery has been a place of peace, remembrance, and community since 1915. As a not-for-profit cemetery governed by a local volunteer board, we are committed to offering affordable, dignified burial options and memorial services to the families we serve.
Our name comes from the land itself—gravel-rich soil that provides both safe burial and lush, green surroundings. With nearly 110 years of history, our grounds are not only a resting place but a reflection of generations of care and respect.
A Chapel Built by the Community
In 2006, thanks to generous donations, Gravel Lawn opened its on-site chapel—providing families a serene and sheltered place for committal services, no matter the season. A half-hour service is included with every interment or inurnment.
